Mr. Vargas is a trial attorney with more than 12 years of litigation experience in state and federal court. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2001, and a Masters of Law degree (LL.M.) with a concentration in Labor and Employment Law from Georgetown University Law Center in 2002. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association Puerto Rico Chapter and the Labor Relations Professionals Association.
Mr. Vargas provides counseling and defense work representing med-sized and multinational companies against all kinds of labor and employment law claims, including unjust discharge, discrimination, wages and hours, sexual harassment, workers’ compensation and medical leaves, among others. He also has extensive experience handling labor arbitration matters, unfair labor practice charges, and representing employers in multiple administrative forums (eg. NLRB, EEOC, DOL, Anti-Discrimination Unit and OMA). Mr. Vargas constantly serves as speaker in seminars to clients regarding recent legal developments and best workplace practices.
Before joining CNR&D in October 2015, Mr. Vargas worked as an Associate and later as Income Member at the employment and labor law departments of two major law firms in Puerto Rico.
