Profile:

Mrs. María de L. Rivera de Jiménez is a trial attorney who joined the Firm’s Litigation Department as an Associate in 2008. Her practice is mainly concentrated in litigation before state and federal courts, of issues concerning insurance, banking, contracts, commercial, and general civil litigation who has participated in multiple civil and commercial litigation cases.

She has practiced extensively in construction-related litigation for insurance companies, banks and developers, including payment and performance bond and indemnity agreements matters, construction loan workouts, friendly foreclosure cases and zoning and planning matters.  She has also participated in insurance coverage, collections, foreclosures, torts and contract cases at the trial, and appellate level, responsible for drafting of dispositive motions and conducting thorough legal research and opinions on multiple legal issues.

Mrs. Rivera began her career as Law Clerk for the Puerto Rico Supreme Court’s Panel of Juridical Investigations and later, as a Law Clerk for former Puerto Rico Supreme Court Associate Justice, Hon. Francisco Rebollo Lopez, where she performed exhaustive legal research and prepared legal memoranda and drafts of opinions and judgments.
