Profile:

Mr. Víctor R. Rodríguez-Fuentes is a labor and employment attorney who is a Shareholder and Director of the Firm’s Labor and Employment Department. He is also a member of the Firm’s Senior Leadership Committee, and Strategic Planning Committee.

Mr. Rodríguez-Fuentes has devoted his professional career to the practice of Labor and Employment Law. He has extensive experience in counseling employers in all matters related to their labor and employment issues, queries and disputes. This includes collective bargaining in both the public and private sector; developing employment policies adapted to the specific needs and realities of clients; identifying and assessing risks in employment practices; performing investigations in harassment and discrimination claims; training management to better perform supervisory duties; training personnel to comply with employers’ statutory obligations; and counseling clients in daily complex personnel matters.

During his career, Mr. Rodriguez-Fuentes has represented several governmental entities, public corporations, private companies, and cooperatives in important collective bargaining negotiations, such as the Puerto Rico Seward and Aqueduct Authority, the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company, the Treasury Department, Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, “Telefonos Publicos” de Puerto Rico, Mirage Cleaning Services, “Cooperativa de Empleados Postales” , and “Cooperativa de Ahorro y Crédito de Lajas” , among others.

Mr. Rodríguez-Fuentes is also an experienced trial attorney in labor and employment matters before state and federal courts, administrative agencies, as well as arbitration and mediation services. In addition, Mr. Rodriguez-Fuentes regularly provides seminars in labor and employment matters and has acted as guest speaker for the Association of Human Resources and the Puerto Rico Chamber of Commerce.

Before joining the Firm in 2009, Mr. Rodriguez-Fuentes was a Capital Partner at the San Juan law firms of Rodriguez & Maldonado, P.S.C., and Salicrup & Rodriguez Law Offices, where he was in charge of the Labor and Employment Division.
